- Proposed Activities: The students will be involved in a full programme of Ecology field work (woodland / grassland / saltmarsh / marine), to fulfil the OCR A Level Biology Practical Endorsement requirements.
- Transport: The students will be driven to Chichester and back in the school minibus, by a member of Freman College staff. During the week they will be transported by school minibus and boat between their accommodation at Hayling Island and the Ecology Field Centre at the Chichester Harbour.
Food: Students will need to bring their own packed lunch for Wednesday. All other food is included throughout the stay, apart from dinner on Thursday evening. (They will need approx. £25 cash for the meal on Thursday evening and visit to Chichester Leisure Centre.)
Kit: Students MUST bring a towel, waterproofs, sun-screen, sun hat, wellington boots (which will need to be in a separate plastic bag. Students will be working in a river at one point, so wellies are ESSENTIAL. They cannot work barefoot in the river!) and a spare pair of shoes. Kit will need to be packed into a holdall (not a suitcase!) as room on the minibus is limited. Students will also need paper, stationery and a scientific calculator.
Cost: The trip is costed at £104.50 per student, and this includes food, accommodation, tutoring and transport. If you need assistance with paying for the trip please email finance@freman.org.uk. Students in receipt of the sixth form bursary should also email finance@freman.org.uk to use their bursary to pay for this trip.
