Promotion of British values

At Freman College we actively promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

These are fundamental to the ethos of the college and the way we work and treat each other. They are evident in our Houses and their councils, our vertical tutor group system, our Behaviour Policy and Procedures, our regular House and College assemblies and our many links with the immediate and wider community.

British values are also promoted throughout the curriculum both inside and outside lessons and through a three year cycle of tutorials delivered by tutors, ensuring that all students receive a broad and balanced experience that reflects modern British culture.

Students are tolerant, reflective and acutely aware of their responsibilities as young citizens.
