Support staff
Freman College believes that the contribution of all staff is equally important in creating the successful and dynamic school that we have become. We welcome applications from professional and ambitious staff who are committed to excellence for both themselves and the students who are, after all, at the heart of what we do.
There are many opportunities for staff at Freman both academically and through the extra-curricular life of the college. A significant percentage of support staff have taken further qualifications whilst employed by the college. These have included Certificate of School Business Management, Diploma in School Business Management, Certificate in School Administration, HLTA, First Aid at Work; and we have recently trained several members of staff in braille.
Alongside the academic there are many opportunities to become involved in the wider life of the college. Choir, band, orchestra, refereeing, coaching, trips to the theatre, plays, costume and prop making, overseas trips, Minecraft and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme are just a few examples of ways in which many staff choose to get involved. The way in which students, teaching and support colleagues work together both in and beyond the classroom is part of what makes the college such a rewarding place to be.
Freman College is an equal opportunities employer. The college has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. The successful candidate will be required to undertake child protection screening including online searches, checks with past employers and an Enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
