The DT department at Freman College consists of a Food Technology classroom a fully equipped workshop and an IT suite and was fully refurbished in 2020. We teach Resistant Materials to GCSE and A level and Food Preparation and Nutrition to GCSE. This, sometimes demandingly physical role, is to support across both subjects and is consequently varied. You will be weighing out ingredients for a food practical one minute and cutting up wood the next. So being of a practical nature is imperative. You must be willing to train to a Level 2 in Food Safety and undertake a DATA accredited Corte Health and Safety training course. Freman College is an oversubscribed upper school with around 1,050 students in years 9 – 13, including around 280 students in the Sixth Form.
