Students shine at the Big Bang Science Fair

Posted: June 18, 2026

Students from our school recently enjoyed another fantastic visit to the Big Bang Science Fair, an event that celebrates science, technology, engineering and innovation. The day was packed with engaging activities and interactive stalls in the NEX, giving our young scientists the opportunity to explore new ideas and discover cutting-edge developments in STEM.

As part of the competition, Joshua, Jacob and Jamie were selected to present their project, “Thermoelectric Generation: Using the Seebeck Effect to Generate Renewable Energy.” Their work attracted significant interest, and they demonstrated great confidence and enthusiasm as they explained their research to a wide audience.

The team had the honour of showcasing their project to hundreds of students from across the country, as well as judges, industry representatives and even the Shadow Secretary for Education. Their collaborative effort and clear communication led to them being shortlisted for the prestigious Teamwork in Engineering Award—a wonderful achievement that reflects their dedication and teamwork.

We are incredibly proud of all the students who took part in the event. They represented the school brilliantly and made the most of this inspiring opportunity. Well done to all our teams!
