"Get Work Ready" day
Posted: October 11, 2018
Our Lower Sixth students recently spent a day meeting with 25 professionals from local, national and international companies, engaging in workshops to develop their employability skills. These included interview sessions and a range of genuine recruitment activities the companies use in their assessment centres. Our students approached the tasks with enthusiasm and sense of purpose, and the feedback we received from the visiting professionals was uniformly excellent. They were especially impressed by the level of empathy and support students showed for each other, and their problem-solving and teamwork skills. We are very grateful to so many people from companies including Johnson Matthey, Morrison Utility Services, Computacentre, Rainmaker, Fortem and ELSA, who gave their day to help students better understand the processes they might be going through in the coming years as they apply for their first jobs.
